Productivity Meetings My friend and colleague Sharai Lavoie spoke on a panel at Digital CPA conference recently. She spoke about a topic that is engrained in our culture that we think nothing of it: -        Productivity Meetings As a team, we regularly meet to discuss items that are slowing the team, such as: -        Frustrating tasks -        Tasks that involve Excel -        Items that take more than 3 hours to complete -        Tasks that team members think should be automated From these discussions, we find all sorts of items for that ripe for automation: -        Connecting payroll data into the Sage Intacct -        Pulling down bank statements using LedgerSync LLC -        Using APIs to connect Ramp credit cards to accounting -        Using PowerAutomate to write macros to standardize data -        Creating journal entry posting reports to monitor efficiency … and the list goes on. We are proud of our team’s efforts to strive for efficiency and continuous improvement. As leaders, Sharai and I know it’s important to solicitate input and train the team to think and act optimally. Now, this cycle of continuous improvement is so embedded in what we do that we hardly even think about it. How do you improve your productivity – personally or professionally?

📢 The Canada Revenue Agency (CRA) has addressed key questions raised by CPA Canada members Each year, CPA Canada gathers questions from members across the country—submitted through their provincial accounting bodies—and compiles a list of high-priority topics for the CRA to address.
